After a group of five cutting-edge androids equipped with quantum computing devices break out of a research facility, some of them proceed to cause general mayhem in the city while one attaches herself to Arato Endou as a combination of bodyguard and domestic servant. As it turns out Arato is somehow related to her creation, and her appearance entangles him in the often violent intrigues surrounding these ‘Lacia-class’ humanoid interface devices.

An action-drama with a secondary focus on romance and general human vs. machine theme.

Fate EXTRA: Last Encore

With little interest in school life Hakuno Kishinami’s placid façade conceals thoughts and daydreams filled with hatred and death, feelings he cannot pinpoint the source of. That changes on the morning he visits a mysterious area of the school shrouded in rumors of suicide and waking nightmares, where he learns that this existence is nothing but a virtual world designed to trap potential Masters.

A philosophical dialog-heavy drama with occasional action scenes and small bits of slice of life-ish comic relief. It can be watched either as a stand alone story or as an alternate universe supplement to Fate/Stay Night.

DARLING in the FRANXX

On a devastated world where vicious beasts roam the wilds, children called ‘parasites’ are grouped into male-female pairs in order to pilot the giant robots which keep the remaining bastions of civilization safe. Having failed the piloting test Hiro believes his life is over, but as one of the beasts attack the parasites’ graduation ceremony he suddenly gets a second chance when the mysterious horned beauty Zero Two accepts him as her ‘darling’.

A romantic action drama with a moderate amount of comic relief (often ecchi-centric) and large number of sexual double entendres.

UQ HOLDER!: Mahou Sensei Negima! 2 OADs

With Ialda Baoth having been forced to retreat life returns to normal for the members of UQ Holder. Or at least as normal as possible after Touta’s confession to Yuikihime, which prompts both Kirie and Karen to examine their own feelings toward him.

Taking place shortly after the TV series this set of episodes primarily focus on romance; the first being semi-dramatic with a bit of action while the other two are mostly comedic. There’s little reason to watch them as stand-alones.

Hitori no Shita: THE OUTCAST 2

With Chulan Zhang’s presence having been revealed to the rest of Outsider society, various factions begin maneuvers to claim the source of his power for their own. They decide to hold the Great Taoist Festival as a means of singling him out, a plan which Jing Lu disrupts by declaring that the victor of the tournament will be rewarded with his secret Stairway to Heaven technique.

A continuation of the previous Hiori no Shita series weighted more toward action. You’ll have to watch that first to see how the characters are related.

In a land infested with demons and ruled by a kitsune-possessed emperor, an order of immortal sages sits in isolated contemplation. They have been spending the recent years forming a plan to seal away the demons and replace the emperor, and the time has finally come to set that plan in motion.

An action comedy with periodic bursts of heavy drama. Besides being based on the same work it has little connection to Senkaiden Houshin Engi.

In a time when ninja are becoming obsolete the remains of the Kouga and Iga clans place their hopes for the future on two youths thought to be the offspring of the clans’ previous heirs. However Hibiki Iga and Hachirou Kouga already have a destiny of their own, and much blood will be spilled before it can be fulfilled.

An action drama set in the late Sengoku period. It takes place 10 years after Kouga Ninpou Chou and can be watched without having seen that.

This doesn’t sit right with either the young wandering lord Theo or the recently graduated mage Siluca Meletes, and following a chance meeting the two form an alliance with the goal of eventually uniting the land.

A fantasy-world action series featuring warfare of both the political and medieval variety alongside a small romance subtheme.
