Due to a twist of fate, the recently orphaned novelist Subaru Mikazuki ends up living together with an abandoned cat wary from time spent on the streets. With neither being particularly sociable their initial relationship is an awkward one, yet as time goes by the small actions of day-to-day life together begin to add up to something more.
A pet-centric daily life comedy with minor dramatic elements. Note that part of each episode is a retelling of events from the cat’s point of view.

This sounds like it might be a newer interpretation of Natsume Sōseki’s famous novel, I am a Cat. Only one way to find out; looks like I will have to watch this at some point.
