Despite the title, the twelfth Beneath the Dragoneye Moons novel only has 3-4 chapters centering on the Phoenix Peaks. The vast majority of the book is centered on the protagonist’s wedding, various daily life things, and a trip she takes to learn more about wizardry (with a couple chapters devoted to traveling through the northern territory near the end). That’s not to say it’s bad, but it’s definitely a bait-and-switch.
Kenley Davidson‘s second Night Elves of Abreia book on the other hand could be considered bad, depending on your point of view. There’s a massive amount of railroading here and the protagonist is continuously forced into doing things she does not want to do, while the romance aspects center on a less than stellar ‘love at first sight’ variation in which neither person is willing to admit their feelings. It’s fairly painful.
