One day while setting up a meeting for her boss, Tokine Amino finds herself transported to a strange alternate dimension. There she meets a floating mascot character who explains that she must solve a riddle in order to escape this closed space.

Part slice of life comedy and part quiz show. Instead of being episodic it takes a more narrative-driven approach, showing scenes from the protagonist’s daily life that suddenly get interrupted by a trip to the riddle dimension.

Kiitarou Shounen no Youkai Enikki

Kiitarou finds himself forced to live in a neglected side building after being kicked out of the main house by his uncle. It turns out to be inhabited by a zashiki-warashi, and together they soon stumble across many other varieties of supernatural creatures.

A slice of life comedy fond of quick mood shifts from daily life scenes to gags. It mostly relies on slapstick, dipping occasionally into parody. There’s also a small love triangle.

Just before the main editor of the Genbu Shobo publishing company’s dictionary department retires, he takes the unusual step of recruiting Mitsuya Majime from the sales department as his replacement. While Mitsuya does not have much in the way of social skills, he makes up for it with a deep understanding and love of word usage.

A serious working-class show focused on the publishing industry. Specifically the Japanese dictionary publishing industry. While technically a drama, it often bears more of a resemblance to a laid-back slice of life and includes some romance along with a touch of comedy.

Tamaki is overwhelmed on her first day of high school by the number and variety of available clubs to join. Not having any particular goal she wanders around and eventually stumbles on the SNS Club, which makes video games. After giving the idea some thought she decides to give it a try.

A schoolgirl slice of life comedy featuring a mix of reaction-based gags and everyday situations that’s a bit heavier on the latter.

A super-deformed comedy with transformation scenes done in the standard Anime style. It aims for earnest parody with an actual plotline instead of just stringing gags together.

Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru

Around 200 years in the future an organization called The Historical Revisionists labors to change history through the use of a time-traveling army of monsters. To prevent their meddling, warriors created from the spirits of various famous swords are sent back in time to fight them.

In reality this show mostly consists of daily life scenes focused on the swords’ antics around the citadel compound and their reminiscence of past events as weapons. The action aspects, when they show up at all, are relegated to a 5-minute or so mission segment toward the end of each episode.

Regalia: The Three Sacred Stars

Following a mysterious mass disappearance that occurred 12 years prior, Rena just wants to live a quiet everyday life. This is not to be, as the past catches up to fling her and her surrogate family into a conflict over the power of lost gods.

Primarily consisting of action and drama, the show also periodically dips into daily life territory every few episodes as a sort of reprieve. Don’t go into it expecting lighthearted fluff though, as while it’s not full grimdark it still tries to play things seriously more often than not.
