TORI TRANSMIGRATED
This is a really good series that feels like Metaworld Chronicles in a ‘reincarnated as the villainess in an otome gameworld’ package. I would suggest not reading the author notes though, as for a time they end up weirdly defensive/combative about readers speculating about glaringly obvious romantic developments.
Lament of the Fallen
I made it to the 125th chapter, enjoying myself for the most part, only to end up completely disinterested when yet another training segment popped up. Wasn’t thrilled by the whole ‘overpowered protagonist, yet someone’s always more powerful’ aspect either.
Song of the Void
A work by the same author as the above, taking place in the same metaverse, this sidesteps the issues of that series by centering on the most powerful existence around from the start. No training montages, no perpetual defeat->power-up->victory loop, just pure worldbuilding and personal domination. Unfortunately, for some unfathomable reason, near the very end the protagonist from the previous series randomly shows up to become a secondary character… and I just couldn’t bring myself to power through it.
Lily Ex Machina
This is basically Arifureta with absolutely zero believability. No idea if it goes the same romance route and can’t be bothered to find out.
THE GIRL WHO KILLED A GOD
Not bad at all, but I only got about a third of the way through before the railroading became too much.
FORGOTTEN GIRL QUEST
This is an oddly aware (though not self-aware) ‘trapped in a gameworld’ series that starts out pretty interesting if a bit infuriating where the nominal protagonist’s drunken nature is concerned. The events following the card tournament though are just plain annoying.
